  • Welcome to this Genealogy website dedicated to the name 'Dighton'

    This website will be everybody and anybody that was either born a Dighton, became one through a relationship with a Dighton, who is the offspring of a Dighton. With your help this website will be a reference point for all future generations as they look back on us now.

    As you can see the site is still a little way off from completion, it doesn't look pretty, and some of the links may not work correctly, but it is getting there. Slowly! Take a look at the ABOUT section for more information and how you can help.

  • Who's it for?

    Take a guess! That's right, it's for anybody and everybody who has anything to do with the Dighton name, and any of its derivatives, ie. Dyton, Deighton, etc. There is also a facility for other names to have a limited ancestral tree for those who married into the Dighton name.

    Why do it?

    Everybody should be curious about their past, their heritage and pedigree! Whether your Great-Great-Granddad wasn't actually so great, or whether there's a family link to a person of fame and fortune, we should all have the desire to know the truth.

    Okay. So how much is it going to cost me to create an account?

    Unlike every other ancestral website the cost is absolutely nothing - apart from maybe a few minutes here and there of your time - and it will always be completely free too. I run this website out of my own UK based datacentre so I can host it for free.

    Do you host other websites too?

    Yes we do. Pop over to www.toomeg-ltd.co.uk and check out what we can offer the small business or the home user who wants their own internet presence with great facilities and low cost.

    I will do what I can to research and add relevant information into the database myself but really it needs you to make the magic happen. So if you can, please create an account and start entering data now.

    The database doesn't allow 'islands' of people to be created, everyone has to have a relative already created, so to begin with I suggest you email me basic information about a person and I will piece it together.You can then fill in the gaps once they're on there.

    Under no circumstance enter any personal information that may lead to a person's privacy being compromised. Certain companies constantly scan the internet trying to thrape your personal information off websites so they can sell it on to marketing companies - that's right, your whole life is worth a measly $5 to google!

    Entering data takes a little getting used to so if you have any issues then take a look at the WebTrees wiki page at https://wiki.webtrees.net. Every new user will need to have their entries verified to ensure no rogue data is entered.
